In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight…
Well, there was definitely no sleeping in the jungle this morning when we visited Plano’s Indoor Safari Park with some friends. Quite the opposite…there was lots and lots of running and playing and jumping and climbing.
Of course like most moms who bear the summer heat in Dallas, we’ve been on the hunt for some indoor activities to keep us busy having fun without breaking the bank. I recently found a groupon type deal and thought, “Hey, we should try it…it’s a good deal, it looks fun, it’s geared for little ones and it’s inside!” Thankfully, the Safari Park didn’t disappoint!
We got there right when they opened to maximize playtime and to beat the crowd (I did make a quick stop at Wally World across the street when I noticed a sign on the door saying socks required…they ended up not being strict about the socks, but at least I had them just in case!). We jumped right into the action with a train ride through the jungle. The boys had a great time looking out the window and spotting giraffes, tigers, zebras, rhinos, monkeys and other wild animals. We tried out the toddler zone, but after a few minutes of climbing in the tree house and sliding, the boys were ready to take on the “big kid” play area.
Let the exploring begin! The ball pit was a blast and with the jungle gyms, endless tunnels, slides and trampolines there was never a dull moment (or a moment of sitting still!).
Next up were animal rides. I had a feeling Tanner might freak out a little, and he decided he definitely wasn’t up for riding Mr. Elephant. He was a good sport and sat on the elephant long enough for me to snap a cute pic! They also had fun safari hats for the riders, but of course we are in an “anti-hat” phase.
We wrapped up our safari adventure exploring the putt putt golf course and the hands-on play centers. The train table was definitely a hit with the boys! I’m sure when they’re a little older the pirate ship table and the castle table will be lots of fun for their imaginations too. We did skip the ceramic painting area…we’ll save that for when the boys are a little older!
As we were leaving, Tanner kept insisting on one last train ride (he couldn’t sign “more, more, more” fast enough as he peered through the fence at the train). The staff was great and announced that it just so happened to be time for the train to take a few more laps through the jungle. So the boys got one last ride in and we avoided a toddler melt down! Huge points for this in my book!
Overall a great morning of fun with friends…friendly staff, clean play areas and lots of fun to be had in the good ol’ air conditioning! We will definitely be returning for more indoor safari adventures this summer!

i took my son today! super fun! hes is only two and the place is super fitting for his age..no bigger kids around trampling the little ones. i actually felt comfortable letting him run about and go free, the play area is designed for toddlers and small childern! loved the choochoo train!!! we will be back just for the train! lol as for the concession stands-they dont have emplyees at those stations at all if any..so i just took a juice box and paid for it on my way out..so its a bit laid back..we loved it!

We recently took our two boys to play in the Indoor Safari park plano location. My son loves the animal themes all over this place. Unlike most indoor places who have small play areas for children, Indoor Safari park was spacious. Also, it was not crowded even during the peak hours in the weekend due to the large space that they have. The variety of jungle gyms that they have are so interesting even for parents like us. My son absolutely loved his ride on the robotic animal. We will probably take him back again next month around the summer holidays. They insist kids to play with their socks for safety reasons and we did not know that before going there for the first time. But they sold socks at a reasonable price and my son was happy to jump into the jungle with his new socks on.

I did my child's 3rd birthday party in Indoor Safari Park and it was super fun for my family and all the friends and their kids as well. The kids still talk about their robotic animal rides, the ceramic painting that they did and took home (we made it part of the goody bag for every child). The kids absolutely loved their mini-gold designed for their tiny hands. Of course the jungle and animal theme throughout Indoor Safari was really a nice experience. Their party rooms were large and clean and our host was very good. There were couple of more parties going on in the same time when we did but we did not notice any disturbance to us unlike most places where it gets too crowded with many parties happening at the same time. It was great fun and my son enjoyed it. It is a great memory for him and that is all I need as a parent.

"Way better for my almost 2 yr old than Chuck e Cheese any of the other like attractions. He can actually play."

I had my daughters 3rd birthday here yesterday and I am extremely happy that we came here with more than 15 kids and their parents! When I reserved facility someone pointed me the negative reviews on some of the portals, I was concerned. But the experience that me and my guests had was awesome. We spent almost all day here and kids really had fun filled day here. We had excellent support during teh party and even after. The food was good (of course credit for this goes to the suppliers as food is sourced from out).Overall, we are very happy and would recommend for kids party or even a hangout for kids... Most important, I didn't find most of the complaints valid as we found place clean and organized, we had 15 toddlers of age below 4 and everybody enjoyed the party for longer than 3-4 hours and went back safe and smiling:)

My little girl had her birthday party at their new location in Flower Mound. The place is clean and well organized. The children had the time of their lives and I'm sure my daughter will remember her party for many years.

We recently had my daughter's birthday party at the Safari Park in Plano. We found the place through living social, and took her there for a play date. She really enjoyed the animal rides and train rides. They have 2 really big jungle gyms where she could run around and play. The place was crowded with children playing and having a good time. She loved the place so much we ended up letting her do the ceramic painting. I was looking for a place to do her party, but I was so impressed by Safari Park that I booked the party while I was there. the day of her party, the safari guide was really friendly and made sure our party went smoothly. All of our guests enjoyed the Park, I'm sure they will be booking a couple of more parties! When we were leaving the children didn't want to leave they loved the play areas. The owners were really nice and really wanted to make sure the kids had a good time. Safari Park made my little girl's day really memorable, I would recommend everyone in the Dallas Area to check this place out!

We had my daughter's 5th birthday party at the Plano location today. We had about 20 kid's ages ranging from 2 years to 10 years. All the kids had a great time. The party was organized very well. 2 days before the party someone called and took the food order. Our hostess was very sweet and she kept the party moving at a good pace. The train ride and free play area were a lot of fun for the kids. The hostess helped serve the cake and the food. The food order came out perfect. All in all we had a great time!
